Computer Vision Researcher/Engineer, Marker Tracking

Job Description
As a Computer Vision Researcher/Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering high-performance production software with state-of-the-art computer vision capabilities in the field of high accuracy marker tracking, sensor fusion, and SLAM. Your code will be part of the foundations of our 3D platform that enables high accuracy AR guidance in industries such as medical and manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Accurate Marker Pose Estimation: Design, implement, evaluate, and improve advanced real-time algorithms for estimating the pose of a marker with the highest accuracy possible making use of the full sensor suite of the Magic Leap headset and the most advanced algorithms.
- Sensor Fusion, Visual-Inertial Pose Estimation, SLAM: Enhance the real-time SLAM pipeline with knowledge about markers in the environment by optimally fusing it with visual and inertial measurements collected from multiple cameras and IMUs.
- Data/Test driven R&D: Leverage data and test driven principles to develop core functionality throughout the full development cycle from the applied research phase until productization
- Programming / prototyping: Write elegant, efficient, maintainable, and reusable code
Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience in at least one of the following topics or related: Accurate marker pose estimation (e.g. ArUco codes), Visual SLAM, Visual Inertial Odometry / Sensor Fusion
- 3+ years of experience in research and development of computer vision solutions
- 5+ years coding & debugging of C++ (and C) and Python
- Experience with VR, AR, MR technologies is a plus
- Knowledge software optimization and embedded real-time programming is a plus
Education
- MSc or PhD in Computer Science / Computer Vision / Robotics or related is preferred
