Computer Vision Researcher/Engineer, 6DOF Tracking

Job Description:
As a Computer Vision Engineer, you will be solving challenges encountered by users in real world applications. Your ability to prototype quickly, while applying the fundamental understanding of the principles behind each vision problem paired with your ability to work as an active part of a fast paced team is essential to find the optimal solution. Your exceptional problem solving skills will be needed to identify and root cause failure cases encountered users.
Responsibilities:
- Develop state-of-the-art performance critical perception systems
- Work on existing 6DOF tracking solutions for the camera + LED based controller and contribute to the production code base
- Take part in the exploration and development of the next generation Magic Leap perception stack
- Data / test driven R&D: Leverage data and test driven principles to develop core functionality throughout the full development cycle from the applied research phase until productization
- Programming / prototyping: Write elegant, efficient, maintainable, and reusable code
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in research and development of computer vision solutions
- 5+ years coding & debugging of C++ and Python
Geometric Computer Vision Experience (e.g. SLAM, VIO, Visual Inertial Odometry / Sensor Fusion, 3D reconstruction, Object Tracking, etc - Experience with low latency / high bandwidth real-time algorithm pipelines
Preferred / additional skills:
- Knowledge in software optimization and embedded programming
- Numerical computing
- Image processing
- Experience with VR, AR, MR technologies
Education:
- BA/BS in CS, EE or similar required. MS or Ph.D. preferred
