Compensation and Benefits Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for planning, developing, and overseeing the various compensation and benefits programs within BNEA. This includes analyzing compensation data within an organization and evaluates job positions to determine classification and salary. administers employee insurance and works with insurance brokers and plan carriers.
Ultimately, this position will build a fair and attractive compensation and benefits plan that helps BNEA improve employee satisfaction and create a productive workplace.
Flexible, Remote and Work From Home options are available for this position until approximately April 2022. Afterwards we expect all employee's to join us at our new offices in Irvine, California where a hybrid work schedule will be observed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, implement, and manage salary classification and compensation programs.
- Conduct analysis of compensation and benefits within company.
- Prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions, and salary scale.
- Oversee competitive analysis, merit increases and salary structure.
- In partnership with the leadership team, develop job descriptions for various positions and determine appropriate base pay.
- Analyze surveys to ensure appropriate compensation across all departments.
- Forecast budget for salary increases.
- Administer and manage employee insurance plans.
- Advise on salary increase requests.
- Research job and worker requirements, structural and functional relationships among jobs and occupations, and occupational trends.
- Advise employees on state and federal employment regulations, benefits and compensation policies, personnel procedures and classification programs.
- Identify trends and implement new practices to engage and motivate employees
- Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of employee benefit program
- Track compensation and benefits benchmarking data
- Choose and manage outside partners, such as benefits vendors, insurance brokers, and investment managers
- Ensure that pay and benefits plans comply with federal and state regulations
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience as a compensation and benefits manager or in a related role.
- Knowledge of all federal, state and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation.
- Relevant certifications, such as a CEBS or World at Work certification, preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of benefits and compensation programs, policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Experience managing benefits and compensation in a Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong people and project management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with senior management.
