Community Manager

As our new Community Manager, you will focus on the end-to-end community experience to ensure a fun, rewarding, secure and positive environment for our players.
This will include connecting the dots from Player Engagement to Safety.
This is a permanent role, ideally based in Edinburgh; although, for the right candidate, we would consider hiring someone remotely in the UK or Hungary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Player Engagement & Management:
- Execute the global community strategy on EVERYWHERE.
- Regularly engage with and manage our global community.
- Support and contribute to community building and growth content and activities.
- Provide community insights and understanding to help drive decision making at Build A Rocket Boy.
- Host and facilitate live streams and live Discord discussions and sessions with the community and our developers.
- Develop and enforce community guidelines to foster a safe and respectful environment across all player touchpoints.
- Player Moderation:
- Bridge the gap from community to support channels, addressing and redirecting concerns to the right channels.
- Identify key community discussions and topics that require documentation and FAQs, and brief to the support team.
- Monitor and analyse community sentiment in addition to other Studio reports, to identify trends and areas for improvement in player contact point.
- Trust & Safety:
- In the interim for a six-month period, support the onboarding of external partners with the following responsibilities:
- Oversee content moderation efforts, including the development and implementation of moderation policies and guidelines.
- Conduct regular reviews of moderation practices and outcomes to ensure consistency and fairness.
- Implement and manage tools and features such as mute, block, and report functions to empower users to protect themselves.
- Conduct quarterly policy reviews and incorporate community feedback to continuously improve safety measures.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in community management, or online safety, in gaming or entertainment fields.
- Fluency in English language.
- Strong understanding of online harassment, cyberbullying, and other safety issues.
- Ability to seek out the information and answers needed from teams across the studio
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with content moderation tools and practices.
- Experience creating safe and inclusive online communities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in online gaming behaviours and triggers.
- Experience working in the gaming industry.
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to online safety.
- Proficiency in multiple languages.
