The Communications Manager Japan, and East Asia (Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong) will work closely and cross functionally with teams across the United States, Europe, SE Asia and Australia/New Zealand to build strong brands and drive high levels of consumer engagement and demand to achieve local commercial goals. The right candidate will be a strategic and innovative thinker with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
Your role will be varied with key responsibilities including:
- Create, manage, and implement East Asia Communications plans for all titles, ensuring input and approvals have been achieved by all relevant teams.
- Work with the East Asia Marketing Team to create a Communications plan that benefits the region.
- Build up an extensive contact list across the entire East Asia region.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive press database that covers all aspects of the East Asia media landscape.
- Build personal relationships with East Asia press and influencers.
- Show an understanding and awareness of competition, both from a PR and marketing campaign perspective, and of product quality.
- Manage East Asia agencies, from day-to-day, through to their feature executions.
- Contribute to the commercial success of the entire region.
- Develop close working relationships with the European and regional marketing teams to achieve and execute a detailed East Asia Communications campaign.
- Help support the East Asia Marcoms Team with event management, community meet-and-greets and trade shows as part of the organisations yearly marketing plans.
- Ability to brief in every area of a project including creative, print and technical as well as Co-ordinating & managing communications with internal & external teams.
- Help support the Community team with community events, Twitch & YouTube production, and community meet-and-greets. The successful applicant will also need to be on hand to help with community channels when the Community Managers are away.
- Complete event project management (digital/physical) including but not limited to –
- Logistics Management & full day to day operation of all events.
- Manage & Negotiate all third-party suppliers/agencies to ensure seamless delivery of all aspects of the event.
- Contribute to the development of creative solutions & ideas for each event.
- Working with sponsors / partnerships / stakeholders.
- To actively build on corporate and community relationships & opportunities.
- Budget management.
- On-site management & Risk management.
Qualifications
- Must Have - Japanese: Native level, English: Business level.
- Highly desirable - Korean: Business Level, Chinese: Conversational.
- 5+ years’ experience in all aspects of PR Management in entertainment industries.
- Strong writing, verbal, reporting and problem-solving skills.
- High level of proven time management, planning & organisational skills.
- Ability to develop strong relationships (internal, external as well as experience managing an agency) with excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills to various internal and external stakeholders and partners.
- Highly organised and accurate, with flexibility to adapt to a changing environment and manage workflow and priorities to meet deadlines.
- Proven trouble shooting experience with the ability to remain level headed under pressure.
- An understanding of risk management and relevant experience delivering safe, secure and successful events and festivals.
- Experience in the video game industry or entertainment industry with a passion for games and entertainment.
- Creative thinking to help shape events and communications plans.
- Creative thinker with innovative ideas and the ability to navigate complexity to create simplicity.
