Cinematic Animator / Mocap Specialist
Within this role you will be responsible for:
- Creating and/or adjusting animations for Cinematic dept. needs, based on mocap data and/or "by hand",
- working with animation data recorded by motion capture system (retargeting, cleaning, solving),
- working closely with Cinematic and Animation depts. to ensure a bridge in communication between those two departments,
- taking part in developing and/or creating solutions in response to specific needs of the Cinematic team (temporary rigs, live retargets, creating props etc.),
- participating in creation of cutscenes, interactive dialogues and/or other needs of the game to deliver the story. (Sometimes even being an actor for a test or placeholder needs :)),
- work with multiple outsources, collaborating and giving feedback on technical and artistic solutions.
Feel free to apply if you have:
- At least semi-advanced animation skills,
- ability to work in multiple software packages and game engines (Maya, Motion Builder, Unreal Engine),
- experience working in any other position requiring animation skills or strong portfolio,
- thorough understanding of the basics of directing and body movement pacing,
- the sense and ability to create a desired and specific mood, tone, and emotions in created or given animation,
- ability to work independently on given tasks or as a team member, ability to receive and offer feedback,
- ability to both be creative and able to adapt to the change when it’s needed,
- strong problem-solving skills,
- very good communication skills (English is a must).
It would also be nice if you have:
- Experience in using/or working with motion capture data (especially Vicon softwares),
- understanding of the game development processes,
- passion for creating narrative-driven games (especially horrors),
- creating storyboards or sketches to easily present ideas.
