Character Content Artist

Kavalri's first title, Equestrian the Game, has seen large success reaching top charts, high player counts, and praise from the community. Now, we're looking for a Character Content Artist who wants to create beautiful character art for our players to get excited about.

The Character Content Artist works with producing art assets in accordance with the art direction for the game’s live updates. The Character Content Artist creates content such as new horse breeds, horse gear and riding clothes. Their high quality work is a staple in the game’s update cycle and drives excitement within the player community.

Responsibilities

• Produce game-ready art assets for characters and creatures, in accordance with the game’s art direction and standards for art quality for the game’s live updates
• Produce models, textures, animations, rigs and other assets as needed
• Create and maintain style guides and asset libraries to ensure consistency in the game's visual style
• Work closely with stakeholders and art team to ensure that all assets are visually appealing, functional, and optimized for performance on mobile platforms
• Participate in art reviews, critiques, and brainstorming sessions with the art team to improve the game's overall quality
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in game character and creature design

Requirements

We think that you …

• Have some experience with game development in Unity, either academically or professionally
• Are proficient in using industry-standard software such as Maya, ZBrush, Photoshop and the Substance texturing suite
• Have expertise creating and optimizing assets for mobile platforms
• Have experience with rigging, skinning and animation
• Have excellent understanding of anatomy, color theory, lighting and composition
• Have great communication and collaboration skills
• Have good time management skills that let you meet deadlines while maintaining high quality

Bonus Points

• Interest in horses and equestrian apparel, and an understanding of what our players desire
• Skilled in horse anatomy, exterior and movement
• Experience working on mobile GaaS

• An online portfolio demonstrating 3D assets
