Car Manager
Hutch is looking for a Car Manager. This is a unique role that may suit a Car Journalist interested in a move into the games industry. Or a Game Designer, Art Manager or Community Manager with an exceptional passion and knowledge of the world of cars.
As a Car Manager at Hutch, you will be responsible for everything car-related on the top grossing F2P mobile title, ‘Top Drives’. Taking ownership of car data accuracy, the new car pipeline and liaising with the licensing team, you will be a critical part of ensuring Top Drives continues to be the most comprehensive car game in the world.

Responsibilities
- Develop and display expert knowledge of cars in-game, know player favourites, deeply understand car upgrade strategies, what cars are better or worse than they seem and why. The Car Manager is the player's voice in the design team when it comes to cars.
- Manage the ‘new car’ and ‘car correction’ processes including data/image editing and organisation, contractors workload and relationship management with the player ‘car corrector’ community
- Work with the licensing team to keep open communication about licensing opportunities and provide them with our needs to deliver engaging content such as release themes we'd like to accomplish and lists of specific cars.
- Propose and plan major car updates with the Game Director. Once a car update is agreed on, work with the design team to design car release content.
- Use your deep car and game knowledge to design new track ideas that would be engaging to test different garage slices and also be interesting themes to go with car updates to help inform the development of new 3D environments.
- Establish new car themes for in-game collections and mark up cars accordingly.
- Work with the Art Director, Marketing and Community Manager to collaborate on which cars are/will be licensed to render.
- Work with the User Acquisition team to suggest cars that could be worth exploring in creatives because they're popular with car lovers.
- Manage what prize cars have been awarded or not, when, how and how many players have it. Evaluate prize cars based on 'how desirable they are to our player base'.
- Use your deep car and game knowledge to come up with ideas to improve the car upgrade paths and make them more logical and diverse, new ideas for the game, special edition collection ideas, what cars could add new value to the game such as tuners, motorsport, trucks, bikes and concept cars.
Requirements
- Probably goes without saying but a love of cars, motorsport, the stats, history and culture is essential
- Open to feedback with a ‘self-starter’ mindset that requires minimal supervision.
- Interest and belief in a data-driven approach to support and validate intuitions
Bonus Points
- Experience with the Unity game engine.
- An understanding of Lean development.
