Business Systems Developer

Purpose of the role
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic developer to join our Web and Business Systems team. Your role will be support the operations and wider teams by managing line of business web applications (such as JIRA/Confluence) and to develop software and systems to improve and streamline business processes. This will involve building desktop software and web applications, using databases (SQL Server/MySQL) and Rest APIs from internal systems (Confluence, JIRA, Hansoft) or external hosted systems (SaaS). Candidates will be expected to collaborate with other departments in Frontier, such as IT and HR, to ensure that these systems integrate with other data sources and applications.
Responsibilities:
- Help develop, document, code, test and maintain Frontier's growing portfolio of Intranet and internal business software
- Contribute to the specification and integration of 3rd party software with Frontier's corporate data
About You:
- Communicate effectively with team members and work collaboratively on supporting our web services
- Curious, have a good aptitude for learning and enjoy variety, with opportunities to work with a diverse spectrum of technologies and systems
- Find satisfaction from using your programming skills to improve quality and efficiency of the company and its processes
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline e.g. Computer Science, Maths or Engineering or relevant industry experience
- Experience with a strongly typed programming language such as C#, Java,
- Experience of working with relational databases, such as SQL Server or MySQL
In additions to this, you will need experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Experience programming server-side in a dynamically typed scripting language, such as Python, JavaScript, Ruby or Go
- Experience of working with APIs
- Experience of developing and maintaining data export, transform & load pipelines
- Experience of using SQL Server's wider toolset, including Integration Services
- Experience of administering line of business web applications (e.g. JIRA, Confluence)
