POSITION OVERVIEW
We’re looking for a new team player who has analyst/finance background working with mobile games services/environments. This role reports to the Head of Business Intelligence working in a multi-discipline team including:
- Product Development
- Product Monetisation Manager
- Brand Management
- Player acquisition
The role involves the collection, manipulation and analysis of data across mobile products to help identify areas for improvement through regular and one-off reports, interactive dashboards and deep dives.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a Business Intelligence role, all the better if in games, especially mobile. Experience with SQL and using BI tools are essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Areas of activity:
- Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports using Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau and any other tools as required
- Daily monitoring of core KPIs
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from the Director of Development, the Head of Business Intelligence, the Studio Director, the COO, and others at the studio
- Develop and maintain internal dashboards showing product performance and player statistics
- Perform regular deep-dives into player behaviour
- Maintain and develop in-game telemetry
- Work with the game designers to optimise gameplay and develop new ideas
- Create detailed documentation of processes relating to the above
This role:
- Keeps the studio informed of the latest developments across our mobile products
- Works closely with the Player Acquisition team to determine the profitability of current activities and potential profitability of future candidates, helping to course correct campaigns and creatives such as improving the audience definitions or target markets for activity at certain times of the year.
- Analyses trends in our sales and player data to better inform product planning
- Identifies our player cohorts, tracking changes in behaviours and establish player parameters etc.
- Reports on product play data to aid game development, balancing, progression etc.
- Works closely with the operations development team to help identify opportunities to improve retention, feature scheduling and opportunities to improve game mechanics.
- Maintains best practice in how we use our data
- Informs current and future product plans through internal and external research
Wider Company Contribution:
- Liaise with game developers to improve their understanding of how users interact with our products
- Work with SEGA Business Planning in research and forecasting
- Help Communications team plan their campaigns using player data
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Expert in SQL and skilled in Power BI, with practical experience of data visualisation and communication to various audiences
- Knowledgeable in Tableau and other BI applications
- Mobile metrics
- Economics (both in-game and real world)
- Process documentation
- Working with others and taking initiative to work on your own from time to time
- Confident sharing results and opinions as to what is causing them
- Presenting and demonstrating your work
