SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This highly visible role is a critical part of Nexon America’s business development efforts for the in-development content creation platform – MapleStory Worlds. The position is responsible for sourcing and developing partnerships with game creators to bring their games and IPs to the MapleStory Worlds platform and ecosystem. This position would partner with management and senior leadership on many of the company’s highest priority initiatives for the platform.
We are currently working in the office 2-3x a week in a hybrid work model.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create new business opportunities for MapleStory Worlds by defining, negotiating, and closing deals for game development partnerships, and IP licensing
- Operate effectively with external partners ranging from large game publishers and major media companies to small indie developers and individual game creators
- Partner cross-functionally with Live Games, Marketing, Legal, and Finance teams to negotiate deal terms, drive special projects, advocate internally for partners and educate on industry norms
- Be proficient with showcasing the basic MapleStory Worlds features and experiences to demonstrate the capabilities of the platform to potential partners
- Create additional pitch decks and presentation materials to assist with negotiating with potential partners
- Organize greenlight meetings with management to prepare and deliver presentations with P&L forecasts and recommendations on content acquisition opportunities
- Monitor game industry trends (games, developers, influencers) to determine new opportunities and partnerships to develop

Work Experience
- 5+ years of work experience
Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, MBA preferred
Knowledge/Skills
- Experience in the games industry pitching to and partnering with developers, publishers and hardware platforms
- Experience with negotiations and leading a partnership from concept to legal agreement and launch
- Experience collaborating and leading cross-functionally with experience building consensus among multiple stakeholders in an entrepreneurial, high-expectation environment
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving, decision making, and quantitative skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills leading with empathy and emotional intelligence
- Ability to balance multiple simultaneous priorities and deadlines with tight timelines
- Possesses high level of intellectual curiosity about games, media, and consumer entertainment
- High energy, positive attitude, professional, and personal integrity are essential
