Business Development Manager

At Forte , we’re building economic technology for games. Our end-to-end platform enables the emergence of community economics, a system where the interests of game developers and players are aligned, leading to healthier, sustainable game communities. Our team is composed of longtime industry members (Unity, ngmoco, Riot Games, Electronic Arts, Sony, and Rockstar Games, among others), and is currently working with over 20 acclaimed game developers from across the industry to reimagine the economics of games. We recently raised $185M in our Series A, and we’re looking for top talent to join our growing team.
We are looking for a seasoned Business Development Manager with experience in game publishing, investment or platform sales. You know the strategies and approaches to help Forte build on our strong technology, game industry and fintech pedigree and extend these attributes to make Forte an open source community leader in blockchain technologies, tools and services for games. You will be on the front lines representing Forte to potential partners and evaluating developers, their games and their ideas. You are comfortable with relationship building and know how to provide critical feedback in a constructive way.
Requirements
In this role, you will...
- Lead developer outreach, establish contact and build relationships with the top game developers in the mobile, web, console and pc marketplaces
- Surface and champion partnership opportunities that range from funding new game titles to collaborating with industry giants
- Recruit and evaluate developers who can showcase services and create leading examples of success
- Champion the Forte brand and developer experience
- Build and manage case studies, white papers and evaluation materials to send to potential partners
- Engage with promising developers to create proposals for joining the platform
- Manage agreement execution from deal term sheets to fully executed definitive agreements
- Lead efforts to inform game makers on the value of Forte services and products
- Process market feedback and collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to identify market opportunities
To be a good fit, you need…
- 7+ years experience in business development, corporate development, or investment banking in gaming or enterprise technologies
- A track record of being the go-to deal maker; well liked, known in the industry and people want to work with you
- Familiarity with platform solutions and offerings in a game related market
- Experience working with technical and product design teams to gather requirements and communicate them to stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; defining ambiguous problems and creating solutions
- A finger on the pulse in the game industry and/or blockchain development community and how Forte should approach them
- Strong understanding of your target audiences and translating vision, mission and story into an appealing and compelling narrative in all communications with prospective partners
Bonus if you also have...
- Experience with the fundamentals of blockchain technology, developer platforms, game design, and / or token economics
- Signed a deal involving a hit online enabled live service game that achieved revenue targets defined by stakeholders
