Business Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY

Bandai Namco is looking for a Business Analyst with good core BA skill sets and an appreciation of challenges posed from across the project life-cycle. Examples include potential pain points, root cause analysis, TOMs, AS-IS, TO-BE etc. They should have an inquisitive nature and will be a self-starter who is able to act independently and have strong data analysis experience. Lean/Six Sigma methodology would be an asset, though.

Flexible, Remote and Work From Home options are available for this position until approximately April 2022. Afterwards we expect all employee's to join us at our new offices in Irvine, California where a hybrid work schedule will be observed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Support – Finance, Sales, Marketing & IP Strategy

• Deliver weekly sell-thru digital sales and retail reports from service provider portals to teams across entire BNE organization
• Analyze sales trends and promotion performance weekly to support creation and update of fiscal year forecast
• Prepare post-mortems analyses for promotions and events at all levels
• Recommend optimizations for sales promotions and events, such as titles, discount levels, marketing focus, & product lifecycle management
• Analyze potential game subscription service (PSNow/XBGP) title inclusion opportunities
• Provide monthly digital sales extrapolation to Revenue team to assist with month-end revenue accrual
• Perform annual user life analysis to support revenue recognition deferral assumption
• Prepare latest sales, forecast, or industry updates for:
  • Bi-Weekly Sales Meeting
  • Bi-Weekly FP&A/Digital Team Meeting
  • Bi-Weekly Product Build Meeting
  • Monthly Forecast Meeting
• Participate in meetings with and provide industry insight as needed

Market Research, Analysis, & Reporting

• Create and distribute quarterly/annual performance reports for the US video game industry to teams across entire BNE organization
• Provide data & strategic insight on competitors from publisher aggregate to title level to help drive internal strategy
• Provide market research for new internal opportunities as requested by business teams
• Examine and assess new market insight tool adoption opportunities
• Meet periodically with 3 rd party data providers to assess reporting opportunities and determine if they meet business needs

Business Development – Forecasting, Evaluations, & Support

• Participate in Product Evaluation Group (PEG) meetings to determine interest in and viability of 3rd party projects
• Participate in bi-weekly meetings with BNEE (Bandai sister company in Europe) Forecast team to align information

Information System & Data Analytics

• Creation of dashboards to easily digest and share sales information and KPIs
• Develop and maintain tools to analyze business performance
• Help mine, consolidate and communicate external data (market, sell-through)
• Guide and advise Apps team in ingestion and validation of data from 1 st and 3 rd Party sources

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 1-3 years experience as a Business Analyst or Process Owner in Finance, HR, Customer Services or similar services environment.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong process minded thinking, problem solver/ solution oriented
  • Can understand a business problem, define a process and validate potential benefits (Cost Benefit Analysis), track benefits realised and report performance.
  • Strong facilitator of elicitation and process workshops
  • Prepared to take a “hands on” approach and work closely with users to understand their issues and requirements
  • Able to work rapidly with little supervision and pick up new or unfamiliar concepts quickly
  • Able to work independently or as part of a wider Business Analysis team on projects
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrable track record of problem-solving.
  • Confidently and competently deal with challenging stakeholders and resilient under pressure
