Lead Narrative Designer - Mid Core

As the Lead Narrative, you will have the opportunity to define and oversee the overall IP development, art & creative strategy for our first midcore game. In collaboration with the Lead Game Designer and the Art Director, you will own the art and creative vision for the player experience. You will be in charge of the definition of the fantasy and the new IP of our game and of the supervision of its execution across disciplines (art, animation, audio, narrative...). You will set the emotional tone of the player experience and how it contributes to supporting their high-level motivation. You will help build the product strategy and tie the product's goals to the target audience.

Our first midcore game is in the early stages of development and is an exciting blend of RPGs, city-building, and tactical battling. You will bring together, guide, and inspire a group of multi-discipline developers to conceive and deliver a beautiful and visceral multi-year game. You will ensure alignment and cohesion across the game story, characters, and world.

The ideal candidate is a flexible and adaptable leader who is comfortable operating in an agile and dynamic environment, and is able to wear many hats to support the team in all aspects of game development.

Role & missions – What you will do 🚀

• In collaboration with the Art Director, define and create innovative and consistent narrative and visual identity (environment, characters, storyline) for our new IPs and our first midcore game
• Partner with the Lead Game Designer to develop the best creative proposition that supports the game experience
• Inspire, motivate and mentor a small internal team as well as the art team of our partner studio to reach beyond
• Evangelize the game and the IP, both internally (team, studio) and externally (publisher, press, community).
• Set the right standards and understand the state of the art in our industry
• Align with production to ensure schedules and plans meet business and project needs
• Foster a creative culture internally

Requirements

Preferred background – What you will need 💪

• You are an experienced Narrative Designer with multiple shipped mobile midcore games under your belt
• You are experienced with the creation and development of new IPs
• Professional experience building and communicating creative frameworks and creative strategy
• An excellent communicator that inspires by infusing a pitch with emotional intent
• Absolute passion for playing and making games
• Able to work in a demanding team environment
• Management experience is a big plus
