Biometrics Specialist (User Research Lab)

Job Description
As a Biometrics Specialist, you’ll push the potential of biometric testing within our user research lab and help us leverage its results to create the best games possible.
With support from our biometrics project manager, you’ll develop and refine sources of biometric data, plus find ways to make that data actionable for production teams.
You’ll establish new methodologies for acquiring biometric data. And participate in programming tools and proof-of-concept prototypes.
What’s more, you’ll apply your skills in data science to collaborate in research and development projects with our academic partners at La Forge.
What you’ll do
- Come up with complementary methods and approaches (statistics, cognitive psychology, etc.) to facilitate the use of biometrics within production teams.
- Partner with programmers to develop tools for collecting data or conducting biometric tests to enhance the richness of analyses.
- Work closely with user research lab colleagues with other expertise to combine your efforts, triangulating data from various sources.
- Help implement experimental data collection and analysis protocols.
- Collaborate with La Forge to develop proof-of-concept prototypes.
- Stay up to date on the latest academic advances and trends in biometrics.
- Make biometric testing an accessible option for user research labs in other studios.
- Explain the significance of biometric data + communicate progress inside and outside Ubisoft by publishing articles, speaking at conferences, etc.
Qualifications
What you bring
- An undergraduate degree related to signal processing, cognitive psychology and human factors, or other relevant training
- Around 2 years of biometric data collection and analysis experience (especially in eye tracking, EDA, PPG, and EEG)
- Knowledge of scientific programming languages (e.g. Python)
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative methods
- An understanding of artificial intelligence libraries
- A collaborative and solution-oriented spirit
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Motivation to innovate in the video game industry & adapt to its constantly evolving rhythm (an understanding of industry issues and risks would be a plus)
