Cloud Imperium Games creates cutting-edge videogames that defy expectations. We’re currently developing Star Citizen, a record-breaking multiplayer online space sim, and Squadron 42, a cinematic single-player adventure set in the same universe. And we are looking for a Coffee Connoisseur to join our Studio Experience and Operations team.

Our Studio experience team manages CIG’s physical work locations, supports colleagues, and ensures each studio is a remarkable place to work, and we all know what a difference a good cup of coffee makes.

A Coffee Connoisseur at Cloud Imperium Games is just that – a Connoisseur. Knowing the difference between a flat white and a latte is great, but we also need you to know different roasts, different types of beans and their flavour profiles, and of course, different ways to brew a cup. Afterall, our game depends on it…

Making the best brew in town is the most important part of the role, but we would also like you to:

• Source our beans. That means work with local roasteries to source the best beans. Create staff day trip initiatives and coffee trial programmes.
• Create a warm, friendly and customer centric environment. Our CEO is known for his coffee fondness and may turn out to be your best customer.
• Take charge of your own ordering and wastage. This also means knowing and anticipating latest trends and creating special offers.
• Integrate yourself within CIG. You will be working with a wide range of people – from programmers to designers. And, we love our social and team bonding events.

Sounds good, right? Well, it gets better –

• There is no cash handling.
• You have set hours (Monday through to Friday) (yes, it does mean you get weekends, evenings and all public holidays off. Even some of the US ones)
• You will have full autonomy and oversee the whole café. It’s called Ellroy’s. We love it.
