Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a skilled writer to join the Hearthstone Global Publishing team and contribute to a variety of writing needs. This position requires relentless attention to detail, a varied toolbox of writing styles and voices, and a consistent ability to balance multiple varied projects under tight deadlines. In addition, this person will need to quickly develop a deep understanding of Hearthstone in order to best communicate to our audiences across various platforms.

Covid-19 Hiring Update: We’ve transitioned to a work-from-home model and we’re continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position. We understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore possible interim options.

Responsibilities

• Support excellent written communication to Hearthstone’s player communities
• Draft clear and concise game updates to support patch notes, app store updates, and more
• Contribute to official Hearthstone blogs, including content deep dives and editorial articles
• Provide copy for our many digital content platforms, including Battle.net, the Hearthstone website, the Hearthstone shop, and more
• Assist with localization to ensure our global audience receives timely, accurate, and complete information
• Facilitate asset creation with our internal creative team

• Partner with the Hearthstone development and publishing teams to gather correct and complete information, including copy reviews across teams
• Contribute to other Publishing duties as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English or creative writing, communications, marketing. or related field or equivalent work experience
• One year of experience with brand communications and professional writing
• Demonstrated success working with large teams to drive measurable results
• Experience owning projects and driving their success, especially with multiple stakeholders
• Deep familiarity with online player communities across platforms like Twitch, YouTube, etc.
• Ability to analyze data to make conclusions and recommendations

Pluses

• Experience writing a professional blog or managing a social media account for a large brand
• Project management training and experience
• A passionate gamer possessing ample experience with Blizzard games
• Existing strong personal network within Blizzard’s communities
