Associate User Researcher

Job Description
In collaboration with the UR team, the Associate User Researcher will assist in designing, preparing and conducting user experience research in support of game development. The Associate User Researcher will participate in all aspects of the UR process including recruitment, technical setup, interacting with and observing participants, conducting post-test interviews, assisting with data analyses and reporting, and other User Research related tasks to provide constructive improvements to the Game Designers. We are looking for an individual with great attention to detail, critical thinking, and exemplary interpersonal skills to join the team!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with preparation work for playtests, including identifying test focus areas and methodologies
- Develop questionnaires, interview protocols, and checklists for playtests
- Act as a moderator during playtests
- Work closely with the UR team to assist in analyzing qualitative/quantitative data, and assist in reporting data and findings
- Maintain our player database and assist in recruiting study participants
- Manage the technical aspects of the playtests (multiplayer connections, build stability, streaming and capture functionality)
- Mentor User Research Moderators
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) related to Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, User Research, Human Factors or 2-4 years’ experience or training in a related field
- A track record of strong communication/interpersonal skills - including the ability to present results to various internal/external stakeholders
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Highly effective time management and organizational skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enthusiasm for playing and understanding a variety of video games
- Experience in a similar research-oriented position
- A background in game design or other video game industry experience considered a huge asset
