Associate Technical Animator

Our Standing Stone Games Studio is looking for a passionate Animator to bring our favorite Dungeons and Dragons and Lord of the Rings moments off the page and into our massively multiplayer online game on PC! Standing Stone Games is looking for an Associate Technical Animator to assist with production on its two MMO franchises, Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online. This role will support the games’ rigging and animation workflow by providing character and object rigs, refining character skin weighting, and working with tech art tools for streamlining animation processes

Responsibilities:

• Support for setup, export, and testing in-game assets
• Create and modify character/object rigs in Maya
• Debugging animation related issues
• Performing light, and sometimes repetitive, animation tasks
• Work closely with other Animators and Tech Artists to support the maintenance and improvement our proprietary animation tools
• Collaborate with each game's development team (Production Art, Design, Marketing, etc.)

Requirements:

• 1+ years of industry experience rigging and animation of 3d models for video game development
• Proficiency in rigging and animation in Maya
• Working knowledge of Python tools development for Maya
• Knowledge of anatomy and form for deformation quality
• Self-motivated with great communication skills and sense of teamwork
• Ability to learn proprietary tools relating to art integration/pipeline
• Online portfolio demonstrating relevant skills

Pluses:

• Experience animating characters and creatures in games
• Experience creating and debugging Python tools for Maya
• Actively seeks out new tools and processes
• Experience playing or developing MMOs
• Experience with version control, such as Perforce

An art test may be required.
