Job Description:
The Associate Project Manager is responsible for planning and managing software products along with analyzing needs from stakeholders and customers. This includes proposing new products and solutions that address customer needs, developing strategic directions and defining specifications of each functionality for features and services, overseeing and strategically prioritizing project backlogs and release plans ensuring to meet directions of products or company’s goals.
What You Can Expect To Do In Your New Gig
- Understand the software development process and how to implement best practices
- Ability to lead or assist other project managers in sprint planning, daily scrum, issue tracking and JIRA management
- Coordinate with cross functional project members to collect deliverables and assets to meet project deadlines
- Bring visibility of project status and issues to project teams and properly report and escalate to management
- Communicate frequently with the project management group on project status, risks, and development opportunities
- Coordinate project release plans and execution working closely with Engineering and QA
- Encourage team building through sharing information and expertise, working together to solve problems, and putting the success of the team first
- Interact with functional team to help remove barriers to team productivity and success
- Support senior PM and above to mitigate when priority conflicts or scope changes occur in order to identify how to minimize the impacts on team resources, schedule and scope
- Follow the Platform team's processes and policies and apply to your day-to-day project management practices
- Prioritize tasks and group related efforts to be efficiently scheduled
Skills/Knowledge:
- Minimum of 1 year of project management experience
- Skills to effectively and succinctly communicate with key stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills in time and priority management while working on multiple tasks to meet productivity standards, deadlines and work schedules
- Ability to prioritize and group related tasks to be more efficient, as well as easily transitioning between tasks and picking up where left off when interrupted
- Eagerness to learn new processes and information then apply to work in a consistent manner
- High attention to detail to connect moving pieces tightly together with details and thoroughness
- Always intrigued by the question "Why?" and continuously seeking to improve
- Basic understanding of software development and project management
