Gearbox is looking for an Associate Product Development Manager to join our Licensing team. This position will oversee the development process for multiple new and exciting products. They will be responsible for pipeline design and management, the collection and delivery of assets, approval flow, and execution of our major licensing and business development projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a manager and champion for multiple major licensed projects in development, with an emphasis on Interactive Licensing projects.
  • Oversee milestone schedules and submissions, including adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Be responsible for gathering and delivering requested assets to licensee.
  • Act as a primary contact for submission of all external partner assets; facilitate internal routing for review and necessary comments or approvals.
  • Triage licensor feedback, coordinating and collaborating with all parties to assure timely alignment and high-quality assets.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to define and drive an efficient and predictable submissions process that meets the needs of all involved parties.
  • Manage risks, identifying and resolving issues before they become delivery blockers.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive project documentation.
  • Partner with creative leadership to ensure your projects remain authentic to the brand and hit any requirements to ensure fit with overall strategy.
  • Champion adherence to procedures and agreed upon processes; encourage proper pipeline participation in internal and external team members.
  • Communicate project status and risks.
  • Assist with other products in development as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in production, development, publishing, or consumer products positions in the game industry.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills for internal partnerships and external relationship building.
  • Highly responsive and able to follow-up on projects and communication in a timely manner.
  • Ability to understand creative direction and feedback, and ability to distill stakeholder comments into actionable feedback that delivers on previously established goals.
  • Strong sense of quality and awareness of market comps and consumer expectations. Ability to flag possible quality issues to stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
  • Proficient in project management software such as Jira, Trello, Hansoft, Basecamp, Shotgrid, etc; ability to become quickly proficient in similar software as needed.
  • Experience with Perforce, Confluence, file delivery software, and other software commonly used in game development industry preferred.
  • Passion for video games, pop culture, and video game merchandise a plus.
