As a Level Designer, you are a critical part of production on our quality-obsessed team. You are someone who brings excitement and energizes the cross-discipline team around you. Responsibilities
In the Associate Level Designer role, you will collaborate with the Lead Level Designers and the Design Director on the following:
- Turning the vision and ‘must-haves’ of the design leadership team into in game content
- Collaborating with cross-discipline stakeholders and partners across the studio for quality outputs and results
- Modeling 3D design layout, illustrating 2D maps & diagrams, and writing design documentation
- Creating collision geometry that supports tight interactions between characters, objects, and the environment
- Maintaining, developing and implementing collision standards through collaboration with various teams and stakeholders
- Designing within established standards, conventions, and metrics that maximize the game systems and mechanics, showcasing their attributes.
- Ensuring that content is within technical goals for memory, framerate, and other engine requirements
- Implementing events and logic via scripting
Requirements
- Proficiency with 3D art packages to layout environments (preferably Maya)
- Experience with 2D art packages to create 2D maps and other visually oriented design materials (preferably Illustrator or Photoshop)
- Can use text or visual scripting systems to implement gameplay and debug game logic
- An effective communicator who is personable and flexible with their ideas
- Able to take feedback, distilling messages into actionable items that move designs and content in the desired direction
- If no industry experience, a portfolio of work samples that can be evaluated, along with a candidate’s submission
Preferred Experience
- 1 year of game development experience

$26 — $39 USD
