The Role
Our dynamic team of game makers is looking for an Associate FX Artist who loves games and is eager to bring exceptional entertainment to millions of players. We are building a next-generation multiplayer game, and you will be responsible for coming alongside the VFX Team to help our game become a best-in-class example of multiplayer FX.
Who You Are
- You are an up-and-coming FX artist eager to cut your teeth on a brand new IP.
- You are an avid learner, looking to grow your FX toolbox on a next-gen project.
- You’re a collaborator, ready to create in-game VFX work with the VFX team.
- You love games and want to create an experience centered around our players.
- You’re a self-motivated individual ready to start on a career-path in AAA VFX development.
What Your Day Might Look Like
- Collaborate with the VFX team to create in-game VFX.
- Tell a story by working World Art to place VFX in multiplayer levels.
- Immerse yourself in a new universe and give your voice to it.
- Playtest our game often and give notes to help both our VFX and the game itself to excel.
- Meet with your Lead VFX Artist to plan career goals.
- Learn about different game development disciplines by assisting on character, environment, and MTX (skins, emotes, etc.) VFX.
Qualifications
- You demonstrate strong communication skills.
- You have a reel of personal or professional work demonstrating VFX experience.
- You show some experience with game engines and particle editors.
- You have a basic understanding of artistic, animation, and/or design principles.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with Unreal 4 and/or 5
- Experience with Niagara or similar particle scripting editors
- Some experience with fluid simulation (EmberGen, FumeFX, Maya Fluids)
