Associate Engine Programmer

Rockstar Leeds is looking for talented junior software engineers to join our international engine team. We are looking for the brightest natural coders to be nurtured into skilled engineers in a number of key forward-looking fields.

You will help evolve and expand our technology, learning from and contributing to designs that make it fast, flexible and easy to use in an integrated highly collaborative international community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with fellow coders to identify how to best utilize any existing technology.
• Work with fellow coders to continually develop and future proof custom solutions in a number of exciting growth areas.
• Help to diagnose game performance and stability issues, and refine the technology based around those problems.

REQUIREMENTS

• Mathematics/computer science degree or equivalent.
• Demonstrable experience with C++.
• Good problem solving and debugging processes.
• Good code reduction/generalization skills.

DESIRABLE

• Experience with peripherals and low-level peripheral IO.
• Experience with peer to peer networking, low-level network protocols or similar technology.
• Experience with file IO and error handling.
• Self-motivated and willing to get involved in wider areas.
• A passion for and experience of a wider range of technology and games.
