Associate Designer

Tripwire Interactive is currently looking for an experienced Associate Designer to join the team. As an Associate Designer you will have the opportunity to work with a design team that has already created some of the most popular multiplayer shooters in the world. Responsibilities:
- Work closely with a senior or lead game designer collaborating or taking direction and guidance as needed on all assigned duties.
- Design, implement and maintain designer content such as characters, quests/missions, weapons, projectiles damage classes, etc as assigned such as blueprint, scripts, actors or any other designer owned content.
- Assist in the design and iteration of game mechanics or systems.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments as needed.
- Excellent verbal communication skills along with the ability to create well written and formatted game design documentation.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A positive and self driven attitude.
- A passion for game design and creating games with fun, polished and ground breaking game mechanics.
- Can demonstrate a grasp of game design fundamentals by showcasing game design work via a shipped project, mod, personal project or game design portfolio.
- Can demonstrate working knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 and Blueprint scripting via a shipped project, mod, personal project or game design portfolio.
Preference to candidate with:
- An associates or higher degree in a game design program or equivalent experience.
- Experience working on a shipped title.
- Experience specializing in a game design field such as systems or combat design.
- Experience with a 3D application such as Blender, 3ds Max, Modo or similar software.
- C++ experience or experience with programming languages.
