Associate Art Director Brands

We are looking for an experienced Associate Art Director to be responsible for overseeing and managing a team of both internal and external artists, being integral in helping champion and execute the creative vision for exciting and diverse brand partnerships.

You will work closely with the Art Director, Art Leads, Production and Brand Teams, to supervise the direction, creation and completion of a varying range of art content, consistent with client standards.

You are a meticulous, well-organized leader with a strong hands-on background and a passion for all artistic disciplines. Your experience in AAA-level production will allow you to identify project risks, and dependencies as well as propose innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Art Director and Art Leads to help define the visual quality goals of the project
• Design creative briefs which align with the general art direction of our products
• Work closely with the Art Director to establish the artistic vision of the game
• Oversee the quality of art content through all phases of production stages
• Provide cohesive feedback on a range of art assets that pertain to the artistic vision
• Work with technical disciplines and engine team to help improve workflows and pipelines
• Collaborate with production team to manage team deliverables, ensuring they meet the defined scheduling objectives
• Manage, mentor, and inspire team members, guiding them with clear, artistic direction
• Promote a culture of collaborative innovation
• Perform any other duties as assigned by line manager or authorized person with accountability defined prior to the commencement of these duties
• Stay up to date on the capabilities and workflows in Game Engine and other authoring tools as provided and used by the company
• Provide oversight on ensuring all art assets conform to the defined technical and artistic requirements
• Help to bridge the gap between other departments and work with various disciplines outside of art

Requirements

• Extensive experience in AAA art asset creation
• A minimum of 8 years professional experience with an art background in the games industry
• A minimum of 2 years as a Lead Artist in the games industry
• Expert experience with current 3D modelling tools such as 3ds Max, Maya or equivalent
• Expert experience with texture creation/authoring tools such as Substance
• A strong understanding of art and design fundamentals
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to successfully work across multiple teams
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• A positive collaborative and professional working attitude.
• Strong English skills, both written and verbal.
