Responsibilities
Under the responsibility of the Technical Director, the Assistant Technical Director is a key member of the technical direction group, is relaying the technical direction to the development teams, focusing on code quality and performance, helping on their organization and management to be sure they can achieve their goals.
Working with the programming department:
- Closely work with technical producers and lead programmers to help defining tasks and follow them
- Monitor global development effort and help mutualizing code
- Enforce coding best practices and lead regular code reviews
- Challenge code quality focusing on efficiency and homogeneity
- Elaborate strategy to encourage knowledge sharing and learning
- Ensure the creation of strong technical documentation
Working with the technical direction:
- Contribute updating our technical roadmap by anticipating technical changes and needs
- Review & discuss priorities and goals of our technical roadmap
- Improve our high-level tools to organize and communicate our technical roadmap
- Work closely with the software architect to improve our code base
Qualifications
- Experience in many aspects of video game development and their tools
- Extensive knowledge of C++ programming and debugging
- Extremely autonomous, polyvalent and pro-active
- Strong management and mentoring skills
- Ability to collaborate and work well with other disciplines and international teams
