The opportunity:
As an Assistant Store Manager, you'll assist (and report to) the Store Manager in the daily operations of our Oakbrook Center location in Oak Brook, IL. You'll maintain the standards at Sandbox VR while working with the team to provide an incredible guest experience, develop the team, troubleshoot issues and provide technical support, maximize store profitability, and oversee safety protocols. You'll be the location contact when the Store Manager is not present. And because Sandbox VR is growing fast, there will opportunities for growth.
Here’s how you’ll make a huge impact:
- Delivering an Incredible Guest Experience: You'll help the Store Manager to oversee the guest experience in your store, leading and training your team to provide a high caliber guest experience to each customer. This includes streamlining operational processes to ensure we're delivering a memorable experience for our guests at your location.
- Developing Store Staff: You'll contribute to the life-cycle of all your employees at your store — from interviewing, hiring, and training, to employee development — building an outstanding team from the ground up.
- Maximizing Store Profitability: You'll work with the Store Manager on your location's P&L, and will think of creative ways to promote healthy revenue growth and sustainable expense controls. You'll also work on local marketing programs for your location, to maximize occupancy and revenue.
- Supporting Corporate Projects: You’ll assist with ad-hoc projects and other administrative/operational projects that might arise in a fast-growing startup company.
But enough about us! Let’s talk about you:
- Your background includes delivering an exceptional customer experience in a retail, hospitality, or customer service setting, with 3+ years of management experience.
- You're experienced with business-related math concepts such as profit and loss statements.
- You're experienced with Excel, and can maintain complex spreadsheets.
- You're quick to learn new technologies to troubleshoot technical support issues during daily operations.
- You love working in a team and excel in a collaborative, technology-driven, hospitality-focused environment.
- Because this is a retail position, you’re comfortable standing and walking around for long periods of time. You’ll also occasionally bend, lift up to 50 lbs, or climb up stairs. You’ll also need close distance hand eye coordination and dexterity to handle technical support tasks.
