Assistant Producer

WHAT IMPACT CAN AN ASSISTANT PRODUCER HAVE AT ESG

The IdleKit product team at East Side Games is seeking an Assistant Producer who is hungry, humble, and smart. In this role, you will help o manage the day-to-day development processes of a team working on the core technology that powers ESG's top-ranked, top-earning games.

IdleKit is Eastside Games core technology platform that enables our internal games and external partnership games. The IdleKit team operates as an independent business unit that productizes our platform and actively publishes new games under the Eastside Games brand.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about mobile games, who cares about the technology that’s used to create those games, and who wants to work with a world class team, facilitating the development of new features and releases over the lifetime of our products. This is a great opportunity for someone who is new to the game development industry or new to production. The right candidate will be able to learn from their peers while growing into a leadership role over time.

This is a full-time position. East Side Games is a remote-first studio based in Vancouver, BC.

WHAT YOU MIGHT DO IN YOUR DAY TO DAY

• Own the tactical execution and contribute to the strategic vision of IdleKit
• Understand and implement the principles of Agile development through standard Scrum ceremonies
• Directly manage and scope the work associated with small features and improvements
• Generate reports demonstrating the efficiency and velocity of the team
• Review and triage work within the product backlog with engineers
• Manage and arbitrate feedback from shareholders and team members, in order to meet studio goals
• Analyze and author documentation to define processes and best practices in production
• Keep current with platform compliance measures and communicate any changes to internal and external partners
• Work with the Senior Product Manager to coordinate current customer needs against the product roadmap
  

WHAT YOU BRING TO ESG

• Clear, concise communication skills with technical and non-technical team members
• A well-cultivated sense of professional empathy, when working with external partners and internal stakeholders
• Detail and process-oriented with strong organizational skills
• An interest in all disciplines that comprise game development and publishing
• An interest in the trends and KPIs driving mobile game development
• Knowledge of software development processes and best practices
• Initiative and the ability to motivate oneself and others
• The ability to be calm and deliberate in a dynamic environment
• Understanding of Scrum
• Experience with Jira and/or Confluence
• Experience with leading a team to the successful completion of a project, either professionally or as a student
• Experience other aspects of development, such as content creation or programming is an asset
• A strong curiosity regarding game development
• A passion for mobile games in general and East Side Games’ product in particular
