Job Description
Ubisoft, a global leader in the video games and entertainment software industry, is currently seeking a full-time Assistant Controller for its NCSA Accounting Department. This is a highly visible role, responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the company, providing technical accounting expertise and guidance for the broader financial close/reporting team, and serving as liaison between the company, HQ and external auditors. This position will be based in Alpharetta, GA and will report to the Controller.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Accounting teams including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Brazil Accounting Team. In partnership with the Controller, to ensure optimization of procedures and processes in place to produce timely and accurate financial information for management and external reporting purposes
- Oversee the monthly close process of AP, AR, and Payroll. Coordinate with other teams to ensure timely recording of transactions and the completeness and accuracy of financial statements
- Support internal and external audits. Coordinate the accounting teams to prepare and provide materials for audits
- Plan, develop and implement effective accounting strategies, policies, and procedures in accordance with evolving regulations, legal and governmental requirements and industry trends that may impact the company
- Lead the team to create and maintain financial performance metrics. Communicate the metrics and financial analysis to stakeholders to support business decision
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls and safeguards over company assets, receipt of revenue, payments of authorized expenses, compliance with contractual obligations, and compliance with company policies
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to accelerate close timelines; Partner with the Controller on strategic and operational initiatives to optimize the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the broader accounting function
- Work as liaison with project teams to develop or improve accounting solutions, including the design and review of IT systems. Provide guidance for ERP implementations/upgrades
- Collaborate with the other accounting department managers to support overall department goals and objectives
- Lead, manage and develop teams of professionals. Advocate for an environment of continued professional development and teamwork
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be an experienced accounting professional who is a hands-on and detail-oriented individual. They will partner well with internal and external business partners, with an ability to influence without authority. The Assistant Controller will be systems savvy and have extensive experience with ERP systems and related integrations. They are a team player with a positive "can do" attitude, showing a willingness to learn new concepts in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This individual enjoys mentoring, coaching and developing talent in order to successfully achieve the goals of the team and the broader accounting organization.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- BA/ BS in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required
- 10+ years of experience in progressive roles, leading and building an accounting organization
- Broad-based operational experience covering all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, internal, and external audits
- Experience with integrated systems including payroll, purchasing, payables management, and Billing/Accounts Receivable (ERP knowledge a must)
- Strong and hands on experience of the full cycle of AP, AR, and Payroll functions. Broad understanding of business processes and all areas of accounting
- Experience managing critical projects such as system implementations, ERP system enhancements, and system upgrades
- Demonstrated organizational skills and excellent oral/written communication skills
- Strong leadership, team building and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to partner productively in a cross-functional capacity
- Self-motivated and result oriented
