The Label publishes the Kerbal Space Program franchise, Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey from Panache Digital Games, The Outer Worlds from Obsidian Entertainment, Disintegration from V1 Interactive, and OlliOlli World from Roll7, with future unannounced projects in development with Moon Studios, Die Gute Fabrik, Evening Star, Piccolo Studio, Yellow Brick Games, and other esteemed independent developers. Private Division publishes the physical retail edition of Hades from Supergiant Games on PlayStation® and Xbox consoles. Private Division continues to build its internal studio capacity, with Roll7 and Intercept Games as internal developers for the Label. Private Division has offices in New York City, Seattle, Las Vegas, Munich, and Singapore.
The Challenge
We are looking for an Assistant Communications Manager to join our growing marketing and communications team on-site hybrid in our New York City office. Reporting to the Communication Manager you will facilitate multiple projects across Private Division’s portfolio and our partners’ games. We are seeking a knowledgeable public relations communications team member who demonstrates a strong ability to multi-task, collaborate and is ready to assist our growing global communications team.
What You’ll Take On
- Partner with vital team members to assist in various strategic communications, marketing, and social media plans on announced and unannounced game titles.
- Opportunities to lead various initiatives and smaller activations.
- Implement communication campaigns in a high-paced startup-like environment.
- Support the internal PR and marketing teams based in New York and Munich, as well as external PR agencies and freelancers.
- Handle inbound media requests in an efficient and timely manner.
- Assist in organizing and managing in-person and virtual hands-on events for media and influencers.
- Travel to developer studios, trade shows, conferences and other industry related events as needed.
- Be responsible for developing reports for internal communications, maintaining meeting notes and other functional organizational tasks.
- Seek out, build and maintain relationships with key media partners, content creators, and other notable individuals within the industry.
- Create a variety of public relations materials including briefing documents, press kits, media assets, and ad-hoc related PR tasks.
What You Bring
- A minimum of two years’ experience in PR/Communications, or other relevant experience in marketing, tech, or journalism.
- Experience working with the press and social monitoring.
- Familiarity with video games and the interactive entertainment industry.
- An understanding of the intersection between gaming and pop culture.
- Proactive, well-organized planner that can work independently to set schedules and manage multiple project timelines.
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Bring your enthusiasm and passion to working with a diverse group of game developers globally.

The pay range for this position in New York City at the start of employment is expected to be between $63,200 and $75,900 a year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
