Lead Art Outsoure Manager

Zynga is seeking an experienced Art Outsource Manager to join a dynamic, growing team developing one of our most important and beloved brands. The Art Outsource Manager will work with our Art Director to manage external art vendors, review and provide feedback on art for consistency and quality, and will develop long-term outsourcing procedures and pipelines. They should also be an experienced concept artist who can deliver high quality realistic or stylized art.

Responsibilities

• A strong concept art portfolio demonstrating understanding of composition, value, anatomy and storytelling.
• Quick sketching ability.
• Create character, prop, and background designs in a variety of styles for our game.
• Manage relationships with external vendors, being their main point of contact.
• Provide necessary reference material and define technical specifications to successfully commission outsourced art.
• Review incoming work for quality, to ensure it meets all visual and technical requirements.
• Work closely with Art Director, Lead Artists, Animators and Designers.
• Continually improve outsourcing procedures and pipelines.
• Establish testing procedures and metrics for vetting new outsource contracts.
• Meet and exceed all internal project deadlines, budgets and milestones.
• Some travel may be required for the position.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years' game industry experience, developing game content across general areas including asset creation, character art and 2D icons.
• Experience directing external vendors and/or art direction is preferred.
• Strong sense of visual design, with a portfolio indicative of a great body of professional work.
• Able to comprehend a particular visual style and articulate feedback towards it.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Expert level experience in Adobe Photoshop. Maya or 3DS Max and Unity game engine experience is desirable.
• A deep understanding of social and mobile gaming requirements, and a genuine passion for the space.
