Art Manager

About the role
As Art Manager at our development studio in Stockholm, you will work with the Department Art Director to help manage all our artists: 2D artists, 3D artists, character artists, VFX and animators.
You will help ensure our producers have access to the best artists for the game project at hand. You will not work directly with creating game art, but rather lead, coach, and influence the professions, as well as making sure the other departments utilise the skills we offer in the best way possible. Our artists design, create, and implement all art assets that are needed for our games. You work closely with The Department Art Director, Project Leads, Art Directors, Producers and Human Resources.
Responsibilities
- Assume personnel responsibility, and directly manage a portion of the art team. This includes, but is not limited to, performance reviews, salary reviews, and continuous coaching, handling employee issues, and ensuring that legal requirements are met
- Gather information from Producers and Leads to continuously evaluate and give feedback to artists
- Planning and executing skill development plans and activities for the Art Department to utilize and support our artists in the best possible way
- Recruitment work to grow our department in alignment with our forecast planning
- Actively work on our department culture to ensure we grow a healthy work environment
- Support Department Art Director and Studio Manager to identify areas of improvement and strategic work
Qualifications
- Several years of experience as a Lead or Manager, preferably within creative industry
- Strong coaching abilities
- Excellent spoken and written English
