We are actively working on new visually exciting games and franchises within the mid-core landscape. This means 3D worlds, characters and amazing new technologies.
PeopleFun seeks an experienced Art Manager with a deep passion for organizing and developing 3D pipelines, especially in the mid-core mobile space. This position requires someone with high-level expertise managing quality and communication with multiple outsource vendors. You will be an integral part of piloting a visual pipeline for an incredible new 3D IP, and should be able to independently define, create and drive that pipeline while it leverages quality targets driven by our internal team. As an Art Manager, you will be the front line communication and management of various outsource partners and our team representative for carrying our internal vision to those partners. You will be an integral part of creating a fantastic array of art assets for an exciting new franchise.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining the outsource pipeline
- Vendor management and relations
- Supervise, lead & evaluate outsource process from hand over to final delivery
- Manage and communicate the flow of assets to internal leads
- Marking up images to accompany text feedback driven by team quality/process standards
- Crafting presentations, and status reports
- Creating specs and Work Orders for Outsource
- Identify inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement within the creative process
- Highlight potential risks associated with tasks and requests. Also, ensure detailed documentation is completed where appropriate
- Full development lifecycle experience in production
- Excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal
Requirements
- 5+ years prior professional experience as a production and communication expert in 3D game art content creation (Preferably Mobile Games)
- Past track record working with outsource vendors, managing time and quality requirements.
- Ability to understand, drive and communicate quality standards driven by the team and act as the first stage of quality control in an outsource asset pipeline.
- Solid knowledge of basics around 2D/3D art pipeline for games with firm understanding of process behind concept, UI, 3D modeling, texture, rig, animation and final marketing piecework.
- Takes initiative and will help create and maintain an efficient and results driven pipeline.
- Able to pivot and adapt that pipeline as project needs shift.
- A passionate, performance-driven self-starter.
- Experienced working with Style guides, Brand guidelines & other necessary documentation.
- Be passionate, and love the games you are helping to create. Understand the market and the broad audience that we are reaching with PeopleFun games, and be able to create artwork that continues to grow and evolve in that space.
- Actively seeks out additional ways to learn and grow.
- Flexible, and adaptable to changing and evolving needs of a live product
Valuable additional skills
- Clear understanding of a typical start to finish cycle for 3D Unity mobile game development
- Direct experience doing mark-ups and paint-over level feedback to outsource
- Has worked on past projects that evidence a variety of different styles and visual goals
- Deep mobile market knowledge
- Has worked directly getting finished assets into Unity, ready to review in the engine
- Some understanding or 3d skills in 3dmax/ Maya or similar 3d software
