Application Administrator (LogStack)

As part of the GNS Business team, the IT Application Administrator is responsible in maintaining the Log Stack service components and integrating new clients on the platform.
Their role is to ensure the operation and maintenance of the applications, actively participate in the requirements and design specifications. They also determine relevance and potential value of new technologies to support business operations and strategy to create best practices and knowledge sharing.
Their duties include the full stack administration from Operating system and up, always acting with a DevOPS mindset.
Responsibilities:
The main and routine tasks of this position are to:
- Administer the systems, including server configuration, monitoring and maintenance;
- Resolve any anomalies in collaboration with other IDT teams;
- Analyse and enhance system performance;
- Make recommendations to increase service quality and draft all related documents;
- Update the different systems;
- Deploy and migrate projects;
- Oversee application security;
- Stay informed of best practices and develop leading expertise in the firm’s technologies;
- Carry out all other related tasks.
Qualifications
Training:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or any other related field.
Relevant Experience:
At least 1 year’s experience as a within a professional IT environment.
Knowledge:
- Operating Systems: Linux (RedHat based preferred)
- Cloud management: Openstack, Amazon Web Service (AWS), Google Cloud Platform(GCP), Azure
- Configuration management: Saltstack, Ansible, Chef or Puppet
- Programming: Python: Java, GoLang etc.
- Infrastructure as code: Terraform or equivalent
- Knowledge of Java based applications in general.
- Knowledge of Elasticsearch (Splunk, Graylog acceptable)
- Source Code Revision Control: Git, SVN, perforce
