Battlefield Positive Play Lead (Anti-Cheat and Toxicity)
Overall Role: Lead the Battlefield positive play team, creating a safe and secure environment for our players. Working to keep ahead of the latest security issues, partnering with EA Security and Positive Play leaders to address player challenges, and keeping players informed on the overall state of the game and the actions we are taking to keep our games a fun environment for all players.
Accountabilities
- Drive the overall positive play strategy for Battlefield based on the direction from Chapter/Product leadership
- Partners with Key stakeholders to create and align the Positive Play Roadmap for the Battlefield Franchise
- Lead the Battlefield team of security analysts and engineers to identify and resolve threats
- Partners with Product, Brand and Communications teams to establish the public facing communication strategy for Anti-Cheat and Toxicity
- Establishes the goals and targets (based on the product goals) for security across the wider Battlefield team
- Reduce in-game toxicity by driving down key Player Behavior and Cheating KPIs
What You'll Do...
- Take ownership of the integrated Anti-Cheat and Toxicity solutions and tools validating they meet the needs of the business and our players
- Drive the investigation of leaks and intrusions and create actions to remove the vulnerabilities
- Drive the design, planning and delivery of new security features and processes.
- Help set the direction and priorities for live tooling, focusing on Anti-cheat, toxicity, moderation, and reporting
- Lead a team of security analysts to identify, action, and resolve threats to the integrity of the player experience.
- Partner engineering, design, product and production across Battlefield development team to resolve identified threats or vulnerabilities in our games.
- Educate Battlefield development team on maximizing game security in the game client and server.
- Partner with teams across EA to effectively guide the use of shared resources to improve the positive play environment for players.
- Monitor and report on various metrics and KPIs, formulating and delivering on plans to combat bad behaviors impacting the health of the game.
- Monitor and report on the landscape of cheaters and cheat communities. Document the latest trends and activities along with defining plans to combat them.
- Partner with Battlefield Community Managers and Communications leads to effectively communicate current state and activities undertaken to maintain and improve the game experience.
You Will Have...
- Experience running teams and partnering with stakeholders to drive cross functional initiatives
- Understanding of different types of cheats and how they work, particularly for FPS games.
- Experience with anti-cheat and security technologies.
- Project management experience, working with set deadlines and deliverables.
- Experience working and leading within a live product in development and/or publishing.
- Excellent communication skills, translating between individuals with and without strong technical knowledge.
You'll Get Bonus Points if You Have...
- Strong understanding of how online games work, including rendering, networking, and databases.
- Familiarity with account security and account takeover activities.
- Experience working with customer service, marketing and/or community teams.
- Basic knowledge of a query language such as SQL.
- Understanding of live service tooling such as content management systems.
