As part of our continued growth, we have an opportunity for an Animation Producer to join our fantastic Animation team on a range of exciting games. As the Animation Producer, you will work closely with our Animation Leads to co-ordinate a centralised team of animators to service multiple different projects. You will work together with the Leads in managing task loads and deliveries, as well as ensuring the wellbeing of our animation teams. Key Responsibilities
- Be the main interface between the animation team and the production teams of various different projects.
- Work alongside the Animation Leads to plan and schedule deliveries and track task progress, feeding this back to the relevant on-project production teams.
- Manage the animation team to ensure each project has the budget and schedule scope to make our animation the best it can be.
- Assist the Animation Leads in seeking and obtaining vital information from different projects and departments.
- Be an approachable and supportive presence within the animation department, providing support and guidance to help animators solve problems.
- Sharing responsibility with the Animation Leads for weekly team 1-1s, ensuring team members are supported in their needs and feel comfortable with their workloads.
- Reporting to Head of Animation.
- Additional Areas of Support
- Work closely with Audio and VFX departments to communicate Animation delivery dates.
- Gain knowledge of the Animation team’s processes and pipelines to better support task estimates and planning.
- Alongside the Leads, co-own the curating and disseminating of knowledge repositories.
- Be a point of contact and assistance for new additions to the Animation Department.
- Model best practice on all aspects of running meetings and ensure this is used consistently across the department.
- Help ensure best practices are followed across the department so team members can work as efficiently as possible.
- Model best practice in all aspects of bug database maintenance and ensure it is followed across the project.
- Champion new Production processes and pipelines when required to help ensure consistency between projects.
About You
- Essential Skills
- Experience of task tracking software and version control (JIRA/Hansoft/SVN).
- A background in scheduling and process (Agile, Waterfall, Lean, Kanban etc.) that can be demonstrated.
- A background in project managing creative teams.
- Desirable Skills
- An awareness and appreciation of game animation and its processes and pipelines.
- A good eye for animation and animation principals.
- Good interpersonal skills, building good relationships with dev team and outsourcers
- Previous experience in games
