ROLE DESCRIPTION
Arrivant is in need of an Animation Director/Lead looking for a place and community where you can make a real impact. You will be responsible for defining animation styles while specifying the visual standards, and be actively involved in day-to-day art production. It is the Animation Director’s responsibility to collaborate with other disciplines to set quality standards for the game using in-depth knowledge of techniques and technical approaches. You will be working on Arrivant’s tentpole project within an experienced team of people who have a passion for creating games and worlds. The ideal candidate should have a strong history demonstrating an exceptional eye for detail, creative flair, and a drive for excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, direct, and carry the standard for all forms of animation throughout the project
- Excellent understanding of cinematic storytelling, pacing, and character development
- Well versed in a variety of animation styles and up to date with the latest animation techniques and innovations
- Help establish and drive the pipelines, processes and methods necessary to take a cinematic from script through to completion
- Maintain consistent quality, style, and continuity, both visually and technically throughout the project
- Plan, prepare and supervise motion capture and performance capture sessions using internal capture and working with external partners
- Ensure a productive internal workflow
- Prioritize and manage tasks to ensure that deliverables are completed on time and to specifications
REQUIREMENTS
- Previously shipped a AAA title while in a Lead or equivalent cinematic role
- Previous experience in leading a team
- Experience working on action-based combat systems
- Expert in keyframe animation and animation principles
- Expert knowledge of Maya or other equivalent 3D animation program
DESIRED
- Working knowledge of Unreal Engine 4’s cinematic tools or equivalent
- Cinematography experience focusing on scene composition
