Accounting Manager

Forte Labs, Inc. is building economic technology for games. Its platform enables the emergence of community economics, a system where the interests of game developers and players are aligned, leading to healthier, sustainable game communities. The team is composed of longtime industry members and is currently working with over 20 acclaimed game developers from across the industry to reimagine the economics of games.

The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, forecasting and budgeting, financial reporting and more. They will be organized and approach each issue with a critical thinking mindset.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Participate and manage accurate and timely month-end close processes in Netsuite.
• Perform detailed review of account reconciliations and journal entries and supervise junior team members and consultants to deliver timely and accurate financial results.
• Help create new accounting policies and maintain existing accounting policies
• Drive resolutions to complex accounting issues.
• Support the annual audit to ensure completion in a timely manner and with minimal adjustments.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to streamline the monthly financial close and operational processes.
• Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training and feedback, and maintaining strong team relationships.
• Assist management in completing analysis and operational-related projects on an ad-hoc basis

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required;
• 5+ years of combined experience in GAAP accounting experience and corporate accounting roles;
• Detail oriented, excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills;
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;
• Able to perform as a team player and to work efficiently in both In-Person & Remote work environments.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) (or equivalent);
• Accounting experience with Big Four firms;
• Quick learner, ability to identify issues and resolve problems;
• Experience with Netsuite, Expensify, and Bill.com is a plus;
• Experience in and passion for the blockchain industry is a plus.
