Age of Learning is seeking an Accounting Manager, that will oversee critical financial processes, including the creation and analysis of financial reports, managing the month-end close, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
The successful candidate will not only understands the technical aspects of accounting but is also analytically sharp and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to juggle multiple projects and meet varying deadlines without compromising quality. Additionally, strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are crucial to effectively collaborate within teams and across departments.
Responsibilities
- Manage and provide insights on consumer and educational institution financial activities, including bookings, collections, and revenue recognition, along with critical performance indicators.
- Craft comprehensive financial reports for review by executive leadership, stakeholders, and external parties when necessary.
- Analyze global financial reports, ensuring accuracy in intercompany transactions, eliminations, and financial consolidations.
- Direct the allocation of costs and production of detailed product-level financial performance reports.
- Facilitate both monthly and yearly accounting closure procedures, encompassing journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, and supplementary documentation.
- Guarantee the integrity of financial data by adhering to US GAAP, with proficiency in accounting standards such as ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 350, and ASC 718.
- Liaise with external auditors, responding promptly to requests and queries.
- Monitor and validate that financial operations are executed with appropriate controls during the closing cycle and in overall financial reporting.
- Undertake diverse projects to support the continuous improvement of the accounting department.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a comparable field of study.
- Brings over five years of significant experience in accounting roles.
- 5+ years of experience for a thorough understanding of standard accounting practices and principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with other Microsoft Office applications (pivot tables, macros, etc).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central software will be advantageous.
- Demonstrates exceptional analytical prowess and meticulous attention to detail, with the capacity to efficiently manage concurrent projects with differing deadlines.
- Exhibits excellent communication abilities, coupled with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification is preferred
- Bilingual English/Business Spanish (verbal and written) in a business setting is a plus
The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $115,000 USD to $135,000 USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
