3D Environment and Prop Artist

As a 3D Environment and Prop Artist, you will create visually-stunning 3D assets for Zenith: The Last City, an immersive VR MMO. You possess a passion for game development and 3D modeling, and will model, texture, and UV optimized assets that match the stylized art direction of the game. You will work directly with the Lead Concept Artist and follow their art direction. You’re the type of person who will thrive in a fast-paced environment where communication and teamwork are essential. Our team at RamenVR is dedicated to continue building Zenith post-launch with additional content updates; we strive to make it the most immersive VR MMO experience possible, and we’re searching for a 3D Environment and Prop Artist to continue bringing this vision to life. This role is a remote 3-month contract position to start.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with lead concept artist and other members of the team to create props and hard surface models
• Produce optimized, clean, low-resolution game topology and UV's
• Create high-quality hand painted textures that match the style of the game
• Generate LODs for optimization
• Work in a remote setting in a fast-paced environment and collaborate remotely via Discord and Zoom, with the main office hours within the window between 9am-6pm PST.

Requirements

• 3+ years of modeling experience working in the games industry
• Portfolio showcasing stylized models and textures
• Experience working with ZBrush, 3D Coat, Modo, Blender, Maya, and/or Substance
• Basic knowledge of Unity or other game engines
• Strong communication skills
• Experience moving fast and work with tight deadlines.

Pluses

• Experience working on VR titles
• A deep passion and knowledge of gaming.
• Familiarity or interest in other art with other art skills (traditional art, vfx, lighting, shaders, etc.)
• A passion for VR games and MMOs
