3D Artist, Health

Job Description

As a 3D Artist in Health at Magic Leap, you will be responsible for creating the 3D models/assets, textures, concept art, and storyboard artwork for Health development libraries, applications, and demos. This position will work closely with health designers, usability, development engineers, to create unique experiences and product offerings in the health space.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models / assets for AR/VR applications geared towards healthcare applications. Models can range from quick prototypes, high resolution renders, to optimized low polygon objects.
• Generate high quality textures and model renders to convey a scene of virtual content in the physical world.
• Work in tandem with UX/UI designers to capture interaction intent, and display concepts and storyboards through artistic drawings that are conveyed in easy to understand scenes.
• Contribute to developing best practices for rendering content in augmented reality on see-through displays, and how to apply artistic understanding of materials and lighting to 3D graphics.
• Create artistic works and models that recreate medical figures, characters, and products.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of content creation (entry level requires formal education in field) and development experience using digital content creation software (eg. Blender, Autodesk Maya, 3D Studio Max, etc.) for 3D modeling and 2D art.
• Well versed with core 3D content competencies including: modeling, texturing, rigging, rendering, lighting, shading, etc.
• Strong background of Unity 3D game engine, with experience in content for mobile platforms.
• Portfolio with examples of character and product illustrations, fine art, or similar.
• Team player capable of working well with others and leveraging other people’s skills and strengths to deliver on deadlines in a timely manner.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in fine arts (BFA) or similar field is preferred, or comparable work experience.
