2D Illustrator – Overwatch 2

The Overwatch team is seeking a 2D Illustrator to help bring another dimension of life to our world and heroes!

With the launch of Overwatch 2 on the horizon, the team is looking for further opportunities to showcase the fantasy of our IP through illustrated assets. 2D Art has always been in the DNA of the franchise, and the 2D Illustrator in this role will be building and expanding on how illustrations can improve our player experiences.

DAY TO DAY TASKS INCLUDE:

• Create Illustrations for in-game and promotional purposes, including but not limited to: Mythic skin splash illustrations, Battlepass background art, Marketing artwork
• Collaborate with cinematic and character pipelines to build 2.5d Origin Stories Art
• Provide feedback to internal and outsource artists
• Working with the Art Director to continue pushing the scope, style, and pipeline for Illustrations in Overwatch

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A detailed understanding of 2D art software
• Proven experience crafting illustration artwork for film, games, or animation.
• Strong grasp of fundamentals in anatomy, lighting, proportions, and colors theory.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of stylization, characterization, and storytelling through composition, multifaceted poses, and facial expressions.
• Self-Motivated with a desire to problem-solve with Art Directors.
• Ability to execute across a variety of visual genres, from high fantasy to hard surface sci-fi.
• Able to interpret and juggle the balance between Eastern and Western appeal that is inherent to Overwatch.
