Summary:
For over 30 years, Naughty Dog has been crafting best-selling, critically acclaimed games that constantly push the boundaries of narrative, gameplay, and technology. Our most recent game, The Last of Us Part II, has received over 300 Game of the Year awards and three of our games are among the top 10 highest scored games on the PlayStation 4. As a part of the Naughty Dog legacy, you’ll become a part of continuing the development of extraordinary and enduring experiences for a broad, global range of audiences.
At Naughty Dog, the growing web tools infrastructure has greatly enhanced developers’ workflows over the years and is only accelerating. We see great potential in this expansion for services like asset management, our build pipeline, and large scale game data. As a Web Tools Programmer, you will have total project ownership, including the development and deployment of the entire technology stack. From integrating with our game’s runtime codebase, architecting a backend infrastructure, and developing functional user interfaces, our game development team will rely on you to innovate and improve our engine’s toolset.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a full-stack web applications aimed at improving our quality of life, and allows us to push the boundaries of our game technology
- Collaborate with various departments at the studio to better understand their development workflows
- Manage and prioritize your own projects and workload with the help of the rest of the tools team
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed or desired
Requirements & Skills:
- Experience writing client-side web applications using modern web technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience writing server-side code using interpreted languages like PHP, NodeJS, and Python
- Thorough understanding of the web technology stack and server architecture, with the ability to deploy and debug your own applications in production environments
- Familiarity with AWS and cloud-based tools and infrastructure
Pluses:
- Experience developing video games, either as a professional or hobbyist
- Experience working with compiled languages such as C++
