Web Designer
Wizcorp is looking for Web Designers to help with the growth of its Marketing service line. Depending on your background, skills, experience, and resourcefulness, you may be the right person for the job. We value human skills and character as much as we do experience and proficiency.
Is this job for me? 👨🦰👩🦳🧑🦲
You are organized, speak/write English fluently, and can communicate in Japanese.
You can think on your feet, and keep your cool under pressure.
You can follow a few, simple instructions and keep delivering consistent quality designs while working almost completely independently. You are used to working within the constraints of design guidelines and have an eye for design flaws that stand out from our original templates.
You work well within a team, can collaborate with your colleagues when they need assistance, and share knowledge with the rest of the crew.
You are a designer looking for a stable source of income while working on personal projects on the side. You are a stay-at-home parent and have a few hours available every day and want to keep a professional activity. You are a design school student and want to have a first experience in the gaming industry.
Most importantly, you have an interest in games in general, you could even be a hardcore gamer but are still interested by games’ promotion and marketing... sometimes you even watch game ads on YouTube and appreciate the work that went into making them!
Sounds like you? Then this job is for you!
About Wizcorp 🦄🇯🇵🎮
Wizcorp is a highly specialized game development studio based in Tokyo and operating 100% remotely. We are a cross-cultural team of passionate individuals working together toward one goal: bringing back magic to game development.
How?
- We get better every day. Our technical abilities should never limit our ideas.
- We question the status quo. We don't accept yesterday's answers to tomorrow's challenges.
- We follow our moral compass. Our values guide our decisions.
- We surround ourselves with people who believe in our mission. Our staff, clients, and partners are all part of the equation.
- We learn and share. We want our successes and failures to contribute to the collective wisdom of our profession.
Wizcorp offers a friendly and honest working environment. Our work is challenging but rewarding, with countless personal and professional growth opportunities.
Typical day 🎮📆🕹️
First, you will open Jira to see how many tickets assigned to you are still ongoing and complete them. Then you will grab any remaining tickets from your “to do” column and get started on them. If anything is unclear, you will poke the Project Managers on Microsoft Teams to ask for clarification, and once you have completed your task you will move your ticket to “in check” for PMs to review and approve. Within a full day, you will most likely produce a dozen static banners, some HTML banners, and maybe even a few videos!
Roles and Responsibilities 🛠️🧪✨
- Following strict design guidelines and templates, you are expected to create:
- Static banners in various formats and languages using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
- HTML5 banners with Adobe After Effects, Google Web Designer and Google Studio
- Videos ads with Adobe After Effects
- Efficient, detailed, and consistent in your work
- Work remotely and responsibly, with minimum supervision
- Good communication skills
- Raise your voice as soon as you detect any issue or blocker in your work
- Discuss with other members of the team effectively on Microsoft Teams, to ask for questions and verify deliverables
- Confidently communicate in English with all members of the company and sister studios, and in Japanese with internal designers and artists.
- For any new project, work in close collaboration with the Lead Designer and/or the Creative Director, to create new designs, iterate until our client is satisfied, then turn your design into a template.
