Overview
We are seeking a Web Content Editor to join the team at ZeniMax Online Studios. The Web Content Editor will work as part of the Content Team in partnership with the Community, Game, PR, and Brand teams to support The Elder Scrolls Online's web content needs. Responsibilities will include the planning, crafting, and publishing of articles, web pages, and online messaging, reporting on the success of web content, strategic planning, and providing copyediting and proofreading services.
Responsibilities
- Contribute the day-to-day web content work in ZeniMax Online Studio’s CMS, including the creation, maintenance, and publication of web content
- Craft engaging, effective, and accurate copy to support the needs of the Community, Game, PR, Brand, and other publishing teams
- Provide proofreading and copy-editing services for Community, Game, PR, Brand, and other publishing teams, ensuring adherence to style and brand guidelines
- Work closely with Community, Game, PR, Brand, and other publishing teams to create content plans and set strategy
- Report on web content performance, define key metrics, and prepare, build, and execute on test plans
- Work closely with the Web Team to plan and build improvements to the CMS and front-end sites
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or applicable field, or 2+ years of experience as a professional copy/content editor
- Strong copywriting and editing skills, with experience crafting public-facing communications
- Good editorial background and proofreading skills, with experience in implementing style guides
- Ability to identify content needs and goals necessary to support an evolving live-service product and customer base
- Experience working with and publishing from a Content Management System (CMS)
- Experience defining KPIs for web content, analyzing and reporting on them
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, including experience working with localization and tech teams
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment
- Basic understanding of HTML
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of The Elder Scrolls brand and The Elder Scrolls Online product specifically
- Knowledge of the video games industry and audience
- Experience crafting community, brand, and/or PR content for a video game product or brand
- Experience crafting guide, preview, and/or announcement content for a video game product or brand
- Experience playing online multilayer games and participating in their communities
- Basic understanding of CSS
- Basic knowledge of image editing and Adobe Photoshop
