What you’ll be doing with us:
- Comprehend weapon art limitations and best practices with regard to modeling, model deformation, and Materials
- Ability to Create high quality and detailed weapon models with efficiency
- Translate 2D concepts and reference material into high quality 3D models with textures
- Create both high-poly and game ready assets with textures
- Excel at consistent aesthetic and technical quality throughout the asset pipeline.
- Optimize assets for performance and memory.
- Troubleshoot technical and artistic issues
- Evaluate software, tech and tools to help identify opportunities for pipeline improvement
- Make some amazing games!
What you bring to the team:
- 3+ years working experience in game development, modeling and texturing weapons using Zbrush, Maya, Substance Painter, Photoshop (or equivalent 3D and 2D programs)
- Experienced with AAA game production for weapons modeling and texturing
- Strengths in both Hard Surface modeling and Organic Zbrush sculpting
- Knowledge of efficient weapon building techniques
- Knowledge of building Modular Weapons systems
- Ability to translate concept to retain or enhance form, shape, and silhouette
- A proven track record of delivering world class 3D models for video games with experience creating weapons, apparel and props.
- Broad experience with game development and 3d pipeline to help you develop flexible 3D assets to make new weapons from scratch and by kitbashing existing 3d models with new materials
- Online Portfolio demonstrating hard-surface and organic modeling, material and lighting skills as well as foundational skills in composition, design, and color theory.
- Expert knowledge of at least one Game Engine (Unreal preferred)
- Ability to work creatively as part of a larger group of artists, game designers and engineers
- Proven problem-solving / prototyping ability
- Rig and implement assets into the game
- Advanced understanding of physically based materials
- Eye for hard surface design and strong understanding of ergonomics
