WOW Social Content Creator - Contract Role

Blizzard Entertainment’s Marketing Creative Services is looking for an experienced Social Media Content Creator to ideate with our consumer marketing team and develop industry-leading social content for our World of Warcraft channels. If you’re a passionate WoW player and love being on the front lines of daily social content for Instagram, Twitter, and more, this is the role for you. Whether you are designing and creating static images, coming up with WoW memes, editing video related to the trends of the day, or creating longer lead interactive content, our ideal candidate must always seem to be asking, "Wouldn't it be funny if....?"

A person will be successful in this role if they understand the visual vocabulary of a variety of platforms including best practices for Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. This candidate must have a versatile technical skillset, the ability to work within game engines, and a creative mindset to push boundaries. Additionally, the right candidate will have a deep understanding of social media trends, how platforms function, and a basic understanding of creative performance KPIs. Strong communications skills are needed for fantastic presentations and storytelling as a key voice of the WoW social creative team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create video, static, and interactive assets.
• Maintain knowledge of digital technology and social media trends, media requirements, and best practices.
• Choose effective social media marketing components and devise effective visual strategies to promote World of Warcraft marketing campaigns. Collaborate with partners in Creative Services, as well as the consumer marketing teams to launch and support major game titles as well as day to day social content.
• Provide key assets to regional teams
• Understand the goals of a given project – knowing the right questions to ask and knowing how to track down answers, taking feedback, and following through as needed to complete a project. Manipulate image composition and perform basic paint overs when necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years professional experience in creating social content from initial concept to creative delivery
• Knowledge and passion for World of Warcraft gameplay
• Understanding of the art styles of Blizzard Entertainment franchises.
• High levels of creativity, and demonstrated ability to generate innovative concepts, designs, and ideas. Strong conceptual skills and the ability to execute creative effectively and iterate.
• Exceptional eye for composition, contrast, and color. Comprehensive understanding of design principles and typography.
• Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Master Suite apps. (including Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, etc).
• Experience creating content for multiple social platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Reddit, and emerging channels
• General understanding of best practices, technical requirements, and specs for developing content for social media channels. Knowledge of image formats and video codecs
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with frequent priority shifts.
• Able to work well in a collaborative team environment, and within an iterative design process.
• A passion for video games, movies, graphic novels, science fiction, and other elements of pop culture.

PLUSES

• Basic familiarity with game design engines (i.e. Unity) and how to repurpose game assets for marketing design
• Knowledge of Maya, 3Dmax, zBrush, or other 3D animation/modeling software
• Experience in the game industry.
• Experience with digital photography, and/or machinima
• Experience working in a mobile publishing organization
