Job Description
Ubisoft Entertainment is seeking a Temporary Video Editor for our Video Services Department, which specializes in finishing and preparing trailers for distribution to an array of platform destinations. Video Services combines editing and motion graphics to deliver an increasing demand of marketing assets to promote our games.
The ideal candidate must possess strong Adobe Premiere experience, having a grasp of container formats, codecs, and bitrates and the ability to create reedits, cutdowns, and modify 2D motion graphics with proficient After Effects skills. The Video Editor must have excellent organizational, technical and troubleshooting skills. Experience working in a short turnaround environment is a must, with the need to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and transition from one project to another seamlessly.
This position is based in Montreal but is part of the Video Services team in San Francisco. The ability to self-manage your assignments and communicate clearly is a must. You will work with the support of the Project Manager and other Video Services staff to ensure that the video assignments are thoroughly vetted, reviewed, and delivered to the highest of industry standards.
This position will be hired through a third-party payroll provider, and you will not be a direct Ubisoft employee. This is a 1 month contract with the possibility of extension.
What you’ll do:
- Modify existing content to contain ESRB icons, brand specific logos, and End Cards.
- Create re-edits, cutdowns, and social resize of online trailers, TV spots, and other marketing assets.
- Modify End Card's legal lines, logo garden, box shots, and copy as necessary.
- Provide deliverables to clients in a variety of specs – ensure that deliverables meet project requirements.
- Work with Motion team to modify 2D animated graphics for title cards, lower thirds, bugs, and GFX packages.
- Regularly find creative and technical solutions to postproduction problems.
- Attend daily scrums and share progress on assignments.
- Work with Video Services Project Manager to maintain ticket status and project timeline on track.
- Work with Sr. Editor to execute and maintain Video Services high quality standards and workflows.
- Communicate directly with internal clients and address feedback on assets in a timely manner.
- Maintain ticket status and time estimates on assignments up to date.
- Collaborate to find solutions and share information.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring:
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere, After effects and Photoshop.
- Strong knowledge of video formats/codecs.
- Experience using After effects and Premiere Plugins such as Red Giant Suite.
- Must be able to collaborate creative ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Must be organized, pay excellent attention to detail and have strong troubleshooting skills.
- Must have great verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work independently and well with others as part of a team.
- Maintain a positive attitude while working closely with team members and clients.
