Video Editor, Gameplan

Job Description

Ubisoft is currently building out our Gameplan team, which is focused on creating gameplay videos that help our players improve their skills, enabling them to get the most out of their experience with Ubisoft products. This requires working as a team to capture thousands of hours of gameplay, process footage into short-form pieces of content that are distributed both in-game and on Ubisoft owned channels.

The successful candidate will play a key role in connecting the various content creation powerhouses available to the team. This includes internal resources, external agencies, and content creators within our communities.

The ideal candidate for this position is motivated by seeing their work published on highly visible channels, and consistently improving their craft with feedback and performance optimizations. They’ll have experience contributing to large projects while delivering videos on-time and at the highest quality.

The position will be based out of the Cary. NC Ubisoft location.

Responsibilities

• Be the Gameplan team’s key editor, responsible for shaping in-game footage into on-brand instructional videos that will be used to fuel the Gameplan ecosystem
• Ensure creative consistency across edited pieces
• Maintain in-depth understanding of came capture tools required for our games
• Address feedback and offer constructive input and suggestions
• Work independently to organize, log, and manage assets
• Deliver weekly estimates for what videos can be delivered and when, adjusting as needed
• Maintain and document video editing standards

Qualifications

Candidates for this position should have a thorough understanding of modern video game genres and platforms, including hands-on experience in gameplay capture, video production editing, and content publishing. It’s also expected that this person can play games at a high level.

Skills and Knowledge

• Passion for games and helping players improve their gaming experience
• Understanding of how game capture works
• Experience with editing short form videos for social media and YouTube
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite: After Effects, Premier, Photoshop, and plug-ins
• Experience with creating SRT or other captioning files
• Experience creating visual content in digital or standard media (video, photography, gaming, etc.)
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize projects
• Highly organized and able to correctly label / tag video assets in a variety of asset management systems
